OK, association game time! Get CD > cool logo! SF in the name? Finland! Oops, wrong, San Francisco… LÄÄZ ROCKIT-member and the cover (taken from the time after the big San Francisco earthquake) > Thrash Metal! And wrong again…
Yes, this is how a first contact with a CD can look like! And this is one of the times that I am glad to be wrong in a way, because WARNING SF bring us an excellent slab ob traditional Heavy Metal that deserves the "heavy" part in its description.
Heavy riffing combined with thunderous drums and excellent melodic vocals, with just as excellent songs that should delight every fan of American Metal between traditional Heavy and an at times Thrash Metal-list in the six-strings and the drums, being miles away from either school of Power Metal.
Yes despite sounding very traditional, WARNING SF manage to never sound outdated or old-fashioned or anything like that, but are up-to-date and all, bringing such great tracks as "Thunderhead" or "The Noose" just into the right light. And should you wonder that the last three tracks sound rather old, well, they are, being recorded back in 1985 and having been re-mastered in 2002. But they still sound good, like "Not A Chance In Hell" that should definitely wet the appetite or Ralf or Hawk, hehe.
I know that many will condemn WARNING SF as being out of date nowadays, but I don't give a damn. "Aftermath" is just a great timeless Metal record that doesn't follow any trends, period! (Online December 18, 2002)
